Assembly

I purchased the M3i Studio Plus. Packaging excellent, I like the double box to product the bike. Parts packed beautifully. I look at the tool list, no problem I have all the tools, although a lot of buyers may not have required tools. Keiser let me make a suggestion, either go with a 15 mm or 16 mm not both, as you can get the same torque values with either one The average user is not going to have 15 or 16 mm, or even a torque wrench, maybe self tightening fasteners with loctite? Instructions are very clear. I would suggest people that are not conversant with hand tools to mask of certain spots in the event a tool slips. Maybe use one type of common head fastener, as I can see, and I’m sure it’s happened, someone trying to force an Allen key to a Hex head. Build quality...

I’ll add another review once I start riding

Great feedback Outlaw, thank you!

Most of the tools required for assembly are either metric or have metric equivalents, because Keiser machines are available all over the world. It's more difficult to find imperial tools internationally than it is to find metric tools domestically, and we want our machines to be accessible anywhere.

As for using both 15mm and 16mm fasteners, they were the best choices from a design standpoint even considering their similar torque capacity. We optimize our products every way we can. Some of those optimizations are obvious, like the rear-mounted flywheel. Some are more subtle, like the time of year we use certain vendors and specific hardware choices, but the end result is a bike that has been refined from every angle.

You're correct that the average user may not have all of the tools needed for assembly, but we do offer the M Series Tool Kit...

Thanks again, looking forward to the update,

KEEPS ON GOING

HAVE OWNED A M3 CYCLE FOR MANY YEARS. RIDE IT 30-60 MINUTES EVERY DAY AND MY
WIFE ALSO RIDES OCCASIONALLY. ESTIMATE HAVE RIDDEN EQUIVALENT OF 40,000 TO 50,000 MILES AND THE CYCLE STILL FUNCTIONS FLAWLESSLY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE COMPUTER WHICH NO LONGER WORKS.

Keiser responded:

R Parish,

Wow, that's amazing! Thank you for sharing your story with us.

50,000 miles is extraordinary, and roughly equivalent to:

  • Twice the circumference of the earth (24,091 miles).
  • Ten MILLION pedal strokes (10,000,000).

If you like, you can send me an email I can help you with your cycling computer: miked@keiser.com

Sturdy bike and incredible customer support

I purchase an M3 second hand a couple of years ago. Recently I had an issue with the computer. I reached out to customer support and received very quick and effective feedback to solve my problem.

Beautiful bike, but not quite worth the pric

I wanted to ride my M3 at least a dozen times before reviewing it. Overall, it is a solid bike made from quality materials. I was excited to buy something American-made.

The handlebars were an absolute pain in the rear to install. It took me hours to get it right. You have to get them in just the right place and lean them at just the right angle because the screws do NOT want to fit in. I finally found a video from a random YouTuber showing how to get the handlebars just right. The rest of the assembly was ok with the instructions provided. If I could do it again, I would pay the extra $ to have a professional install it.

I do have to tighten the handlebar screws every few times I ride it. I also had one of the screws from the hubcap fly off during a workout (easy fix, but still). At this price point, I expect things to not be falling off or coming loose.

I think most people would do well to purchase cheaper bike, and I am not convinced the M3 is worth what I paid for it.

Keiser responded:

Thanks Amber,

I'm surprised to hear that you need to tighten the handlebar screws so frequently, particularly if the correct torque is applied. Please contact our service department if you continue to encounter this issue because you're 100% right; you should not need to tighten or adjust the screws so frequently.

Love the M3!

VERIFIED PURCHASE
The M3 is a great addition to my home exercise equipment. Fortunate to have had the opportunity to train on the M3 before my purchase. Worked at training academy and they had plenty of M3's to ride. I like that its heavy but very solid/stable when your riding hard with no wobble. Its very quite and the peddling has the same precision like being on my road bike.
re my mention of it being heavy, the 2 wheels on the front of the frame make it easy to move around my home.

I have been a bit sick, so I haven't been riding it lately. But, I did ride it last week and it is feels like a real quality outdoor bike!
